We held a water-throwing ceremony this year too in accordance with traditional Thai culture.
(Unfortunately, some staff were out of the office due to business meeting.)

A ceremony to ward off evil spirits and celebrate the New Year.
As a sign of respect, a little water is poured over the elderly.
This is a beautiful traditional Thai event in which it is said that splashing water will help ease the heat of the Thai summer, bring happiness and prosperity to life.

You may have a strong image of Thai Songkran Festival being about people vigorously throwing water at each other in the streets, but it is actually a traditional ritual like this.
